At one time feeding the hogs was a chore. That was before I learned to let Rumor do the job he was bred for...helping with the farm animals. Now feeding the hogs is not as large of a challenge. The hog use to try to take me down for the feed bucket in my hands. She doesn't get that chance anymore. Rumor comes along and he keeps her occupied until I can get the food poured into the feed pans.
I know these pictures are not the best but I did the best I could with a digital camera and a fast moving dog and a pretty large Hog underfoot.
Rumor goes in to lure the hog away from the feed pan.
In the next two pictures he is keeping her busy . Once the food is in the pans and the hogs go to the feed pans, Rumor leaves them alone and goes back out the gate. Of course it would all be easier if we got things set up right so I didn't have to go into the pen to feed them, but then Rumor would sure miss this job. He loves it.
